ALGIERS, February 28, 2024 – The National Gendarmerie services of the province of Algiers announced the dismantling of a criminal network in Bir Mourad Rais, managing a front company for financial investments called “Everssay Group”, which scammed more than 600 victims.
According to the statement from this security force, this company specialized in financial investments and presented itself as an import-export company. It offered for sale shares and financial and real estate investments, promising high interest rates in exchange for the funds invested.
The Everssay company went as far as to offer an “Islamic Investment”, with a variable monthly income ranging from 2750 to 4000 Algerian dinars.
The operation of the National Gendarmerie led to the arrest of three directors, including a woman, and an impressive seizure: 13 luxury cars, a motorcycle, the sum of 50 million Algerian dinars in cash (5 billion centimes), a gold jewelry set, and a pleasure yacht.
There were also 837 contract files with clients, computer equipment and office furniture in 6 apartments in Algiers, 10 different size and shape stamps, 3 bill counters, 21 smartphones, postal checks, and bank cards.
Another important detail, the fictitious company Everssay did most of its promotion and attracted the majority of its clients through the social network Facebook. The moral of the story is that behind promises of easy money, there is often a scam.
