On the occasion of the opening of the Great Mosque of Algiers for Friday prayers starting from March 1st, the Algiers Public Establishment for Urban and Suburban Transport (ETUSA) has implemented a special arrangement to facilitate the transportation of worshipers.
This program, which will run from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, includes 49 buses on 13 routes (round trip), as well as two buses for people with reduced mobility. Reservation for these buses is done in advance at 0555 026 594, explained ETUSA in their statement.
To facilitate the navigation of worshipers, ETUSA also plans to deploy orientation agents and controllers to guide travelers and distribute brochures with useful information, such as the transportation program to Djamaâ El-Djazaïr.
“These measures are in addition to the existing information system to indicate bus destinations via signs,” added the same source.
According to the same statement, the ticket price is set at 50 Algerian Dinar for urban transport and 100 Algerian Dinar for suburban transport. The latter is valid for round trip (customers are therefore asked to keep their ticket for the return).
Departure points for ETUSA buses to Djamaâ El-Djazaïr are as follows:
– Place du 1er Mai: 5 buses
– Les Fusilles: 5 buses
– El Harrach Railway Station: 5 buses
– Kouba: 5 buses
– Place des Martyrs: 5 buses
– Birtouta Railway Station: 10 buses
– OPLA Stop: 2 buses
– Rouiba: 2 buses
– Exhibition Palace: 2 buses
– Khemis El Khechna via Hammedi: 2 buses
– Ouled Moussa: 2 buses
– Kharouba multimodal station: 2 buses
– Zeralda: 2 buses
To ensure smooth operation of the service and traffic flow, ETUSA buses will be parked near the “Ardis” parking lot and along the north facade, parallel to the highway, allowing worshipers to easily reach the buses after Friday prayers.
