DIPLOMACY – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune decided on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, to carry out a partial movement within the body of diplomatic and consular chiefs.

This movement, as indicated in the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, affects twenty-eight (28) ambassadors, three (3) consuls general, and three (3) consuls.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that these appointments, which “are part of the revitalization of the diplomatic apparatus,” aim to “optimize the performance of Algerian diplomatic action in the face of current challenges and to ensure optimal support for the national community abroad.”

It should be noted, as stated in the same document, that the partial movement within the body of ambassadors, consuls general, and consuls will come into effect after all the required protocol procedures have been completed.
