Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria – In a recent development that has shaken the local community, the security forces of the wilaya of Sidi Bel Abbès have reported significant progress in a shocking case.

April 9, 2024, Sidi Bel Abbès – A grim discovery was made on Monday evening, just before iftar, when investigators uncovered three bodies buried in a farm on the outskirts of Mestfa Ben Brahim, about thirty kilometers east of Sidi Bel Abbès.

This revelation comes after residents reported the disturbing disappearance of people, spread over several days and under mysterious circumstances.

Local informants, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicate that the deceased had been lured by an offer of carpooling to distant regions, orchestrated by a criminal network involved in the theft of high-end vehicles.

The victims, who were active on a popular private transportation platform, were allegedly killed shortly after their arrival at the supposed “Ferme El Abbad.”

The authorities have managed to recover the vehicles of the VTC drivers who were tragically found dead. This action represents a crucial breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

Sidi Bel Abbès: Arrests and Prosecution of Criminals

7 out of 8 suspects have been arrested in connection with the heinous crime that cost the lives of 3 VTC drivers.

The arrested individuals are currently awaiting appearance before the investigating judge at the court of Sfisef, while one suspect remains at large.

Preliminary investigations, supported by technical analyses, have highlighted phone calls between a victim, identified by the initials B.J., and a suspect, Z.A.A., who admitted to knowing the location of the bodies.

Following these confessions, a search warrant was issued for a farm located on the outskirts of the municipality of Mestfa Ben Brahim.

The joint intervention of the police, the civil protection, and a forensic doctor led to the discovery of three bodies.

After interrogation, the investigating judge ordered the provisional detention of five suspects and placed two others under judicial control, while the judicial investigation continues.

This incident highlights the risks faced by transportation service drivers and underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to ensure security and justice. The community eagerly awaits future developments as the investigation progresses.
