ALGER, Thursday, April 18, 2024 — The Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Said Chanegriha, received on Thursday, April 18 in Algiers, the President of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Admiral Rob Bauer.
This meeting between the two top military officials is part of a visit to Algeria by Admiral Rob Bauer, leading a significant delegation, from April 17 to 19, 2024, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense (MDN).
The meeting, the same document specifies, took place in the presence of the commander of the national gendarmerie, central directors of the Ministry of National Defense, and the general staff of the People’s National Army (ANP).
On this occasion, Army General Said Chanegriha emphasized that the cooperation between Algeria and NATO has allowed “the establishment of a solid and fruitful partnership between the two parties and the creation of a dynamic of consultation and dialogue.”
The ANP Chief of Staff also pointed out that military cooperation between Algeria and NATO has seen qualitative development “both in terms of dialogue and consultation and at the operational level.”
Finally, S. Chanegriha stated that Algeria, proud of its past and jealous of its independence, is keen on preserving its decision-making power and extending its full and complete sovereignty over the entire national territory.
In addition, the ANP Chief of Staff had received last Monday (April 15, 2024) Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Special Representative of Vladimir Putin for the Middle East and Africa.
