After obtaining all the necessary authorizations, the distributor of Daewoo Trucks in Algeria is ready to officially launch the brand this Thursday. Truck enthusiasts will be delighted to discover the new models offered by the Korean brand.
Indeed, the Korean truck brand, Daewoo Trucks, is returning to Algeria this Thursday. After obtaining its import authorization in April 2023, the distributor of Daewoo Trucks in Algeria finally received its final approval at the end of the same year and will officially launch the brand this Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Furthermore, in 2019, Pengpu Algeria showcased its range of Daewoo Trucks, assembled in its factory in Oum Drou, in the wilaya of Chlef, at the Algerian production fair. This project is the result of a successful strategic partnership between the Korean company Tata Daewoo and the Algerian company Pengpu, established in July 2017. The first Daewoo Trucks truck rolled off the assembly lines in November 2018.
Presentation of the Maximus and Novus models
Furthermore, during its exhibition, Pengpu Algeria unveiled several variations of trucks based on the Maximus and Novus models. The Maximus was offered in several versions, including two road tractors in 4×2 and 6×4 versions. They were equipped with a 6-liter engine developing 420 hp, paired with a ZF manual gearbox with 16 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. Garbage truck, refrigerated container, and bare chassis versions were also available.
As for the Novus, it was presented in road tractor 4×2 and 6×4 versions, as well as in quarry dump truck version. These models were equipped with a 6-liter engine developing 350 hp, paired with a manual gearbox with 10 forward gears and 2 reverse gears.
