The Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion recently announced a new measure regarding sales and promotional sales in Algeria. This decision, revealed in an official statement last Sunday, paves the way for a special commercial activity period during the month of Ramadan and Aid El-Fitr, covering all the wilayas of the country.

The ministry’s statement specified that all businesses, regardless of the type of products they offer, are now authorized to conduct sales and promotional sales during the month of Ramadan and Aid El-Fitr of the year 1445 of the Hijri calendar, corresponding to the year 2024. This decision is in line with executive decree 06-215 of June 18, 2006, recently amended and supplemented, which establishes the conditions and modalities for these types of sales.

This extension of sales periods during key moments such as Ramadan and religious festivals meets a practical and legal need. Indeed, it is in strict compliance with the provisions of Article 3 of the aforementioned executive decree.

The ministry also called on economic agents to seize this opportunity. Intensifying these special sales can not only help promote their activities, but also offer products and services at competitive prices, benefiting a wider range of consumers during these sacred periods.

Simplification of administrative procedures

In order to facilitate administrative procedures for businesses, an exceptional measure has been taken. Economic agents will be exempt from the usual authorization request required to conduct these types of sales. This provision aims to encourage greater participation of businesses and stimulate the market.

This announcement is enthusiastically welcomed by many merchants and consumers across the country. It is seen as an opportunity not only to boost business, but also to make products more accessible at a time when solidarity and sharing are at the heart of concerns.
