The Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, warned on Monday against speculators “who exploit the month of fasting to increase prices and make a quick profit”, regarding the consequences of their actions, while announcing promotional prices for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Indeed, the Minister of Commerce warned that any attempt to raise prices without justification will result in legal action, stating that his ministry, which “has taken measures to protect the national economy and local products, will no longer tolerate price increases, not only during the month of Ramadan, as it will work to enforce the law in the Algerian market throughout the year.”
