After a day of respite, the rain seems to regain the upper hand, with thunderstorms expected today in different regions of the country, accompanied by snowfall and a slight drop in temperatures. The weather forecast for Monday, February 26, 2024, invites us to remain vigilant in the face of the whims of the weather!

In a constantly changing meteorological landscape, the forecasts for the day reveal a contrasting picture. In the afternoon, the western and central regions of the country will be under the influence of often cloudy weather, with rain falling first in the west and gradually spreading to the center by late afternoon. These precipitation will become more intense, turning into thunderstorms and may even be accompanied by hail in some places by the evening.

At the same time, the forecasts from the National Office of Meteorology (ONM) for this Monday anticipate a partly cloudy sky in the eastern regions, gradually evolving towards a mostly cloudy sky in the evening. Some rain showers will also mark the western part of the area, highlighting the variability of weather conditions across the country.

Finally, in the Sahara regions, the ONM predicts a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky in general, offering a different perspective for the inhabitants of these regions. It is essential to take necessary precautions and stay tuned to local weather updates for a safe day.

Furthermore, the services of Météo Algérie have announced that snowflakes will be observed on the mountain tops of the West in the evening, then those of the Center during the night. This announcement warns residents against changing weather conditions and encourages them to prepare accordingly.

In addition, the temperatures expected for February 26 show a wide variability across the country. On the coastal regions, the highs will range between 18°C and 22°C. In the inland regions, the temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging between 15°C and 21°C. However, in the vast expanses of the Sahara regions, temperatures will reach between 20°C and 35°C.

Therefore, in Annaba, the thermometers will indicate 15°C, while in El Tarf and Béjaia, they will respectively show 16°C and 17°C. In the Tipaza region, the maximum temperature will also reach 17°C. In Oran, the expected temperature is 20°C, while in the inland cities such as Sétif and Mila, the temperatures will range between 12°C and 14°C. In Béchar and Ouargla, the mercury will reach 21°C and 23°C respectively, while in the Djanet desert, it will climb up to 24°C.
