Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, oversaw the delivery of an Eid clothing donation to the Algerian Red Crescent today, intended for children in Gaza, as well as for the needy and orphans in Algeria, at the Palais des Expositions in Algiers.

The Ministry of Commerce explained, in a statement, that in solidarity with the Palestinian people of Gaza, Minister of Commerce Tayeb Zitouni oversaw this afternoon, along with the Secretary-General of the Union of Algerian Merchants and Craftsmen, Issam Badrisi, the delivery of 90,000 outfits, some of which will be sent to children in Gaza and the rest will be distributed to the needy and orphans in Algeria.

This action demonstrates the importance of international humanitarian aid, particularly in regions like Gaza, where living conditions are often difficult due to conflicts and economic hardships. The contribution of the Ministry of Commerce and its local partners in Algeria provides tangible support to children and families in need.

For the beneficiaries of these donations, whether in Gaza or Algeria, these clothes represent more than just material items. They symbolize moral support and international solidarity, thus strengthening bonds between peoples and nations.

More than 24,000 women and children killed in Gaza

More than 24,000 Palestinian women and children have been killed as martyrs in the Zionist genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for six months, according to the Media Office in the Palestinian enclave.

The Israeli army “has committed 2,922 massacres in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023,” the same source reported, adding that these massacres have claimed the lives of “24,600 Palestinian women and children.”

The statement also highlights that “7,000 people were under rubble or missing and that 73% of those exposed to Zionist attacks were women and children.” Additionally, 30 children have died due to malnutrition and dehydration in Gaza.

In the statement, it is also mentioned that the Zionist army has attacked Gaza with “over 70,000 tons of explosives since October 7, and 484 healthcare workers and 65 civil defense officers have lost their lives in the attacks.”

According to the source, the number of critically injured patients who need treatment abroad amounts to “11,000, and 10,000 cancer patients are at risk of dying due to inadequate healthcare.”

Highlighting the inhumane situation in overcrowded shelters where displaced Palestinians have taken refuge, the Office reports “over 8,000 cases of Hepatitis A as a result of displacement.”

In conclusion, the statement notes that “the lives of 60,000 pregnant women in Gaza are at risk due to lack of care, and 350,000 people suffer from chronic diseases due to a lack of medication.”
