Algeria – Palestine — Mahmoud Abbas will make an official visit to Algeria during this month of April, after Eid al-Fitr. This visit was agreed upon during a phone call yesterday, Wednesday, April 3, between the Algerian president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the president of the Palestinian Authority.

“The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received a phone call today (4/3/2024) from his brother Mahmoud Abbas, President of the occupied State of Palestine,” the statement from the Presidency of the Republic said.

The document continued, “The latter expressed his gratitude and thanks to Algeria, the president, the people, and the state, for all its initiatives in favor of the Palestinian cause, particularly the recent UN resolution.”

“For his part, the President of the Republic reaffirmed Algeria’s firm positions and its constant support for all international efforts aimed at restoring justice and allowing the brotherly Palestinian people to regain its legitimate rights,” the statement further read.

Finally, the Presidency announced that the two Heads of State agreed on a visit from Mahmoud Abbas and his Palestinian Foreign Minister to Algeria after Eid al-Fitr, which is after April 10.

Algeria reaffirms its solidarity with the Palestinian people

On the other hand, Algeria, through a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on April 1, reaffirmed its solidarity with the Palestinian people in their resistance to the Israeli occupation army, ensuring them firm and unwavering support.

“Algeria reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their heroic resistance and immeasurable sacrifices against one of the most barbaric armies, its military arsenal, and its expansionist colonial policy,” the document said.

“Algeria reaffirms its firm and unwavering support for the Palestinian people in this trial and in defense of their land, dignity, and right to establish an independent state on all its territories and with El Qods as the capital,” the statement concluded.

Furthermore, Algeria sent two aircraft from the Algerian People’s National Army Air Force to the Gaza Strip this Monday, carrying 168 tons of humanitarian aid (food, medicine, medical supplies…). This operation reflects Algeria’s unconditional commitment to the Palestinian people.
