The Franco-Algerian influencer Just Riadh, followed by more than 13 million subscribers on social media, was the victim of a home invasion on Sunday night at his parents’ home in Magny-le-Hongre (Seine-et-Marne).
The violent intrusion occurred around 2 a.m. Three unknown assailants armed with a knife surprised Just Riadh, his wife, and his brother. The attackers then fled with three cell phones, two Rolex watches worth 20,000 euros, and 1,000 euros in cash.
Riadh Belaïche, his real name, was born in Sidi Bel Abbès and immigrated to France with his parents at the age of 8. His celebrity on social media has opened doors for him in the cinema, where he recently played the role of French pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen in the film “À la belle étoile”.
The recent home invasion suffered by influencer Just Riadh is not an isolated case, but rather the latest episode of a series of attacks targeting public figures in France.
Riadh finally breaks his silence and expresses himself through an Instagram story. He declares, “Some may say it’s the price of notoriety or something, but nothing can justify or mitigate this.” He adds, “I’m so angry at the three people responsible for this act.”
This wave of crime highlights a disturbing trend, particularly in the Paris region. After singer Vitaa, PSG goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier, and radio host Bruno Guillon, it is now Just Riadh’s turn to be the target of these violent attacks.
The statistics from the prefecture of police are eloquent: from January to November 2023, no less than 288 home invasions were recorded in Paris and its suburbs. These attacks mainly target public figures.
The reasons for this upsurge in violence are multiple. The ostentatious signs of wealth displayed on social media, such as luxury watches or high-end bags, particularly attract the attention of burglars. They do not hesitate to break into their victims’ homes to seize these valuable objects during the break-in.
