As we approach the last days of this holy month of Ramadan, hot weather persists in various regions of the country, marking the weather forecasts for the beginning of this week. This summer heat is accompanied, in addition, by strong winds and sandstorms in certain provinces.

Indeed, the National Office of Meteorology (ONM) has issued a yellow alert for risks of a “heatwave” in the provinces of Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Relizane, Mastaganem, Chlef, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Tipaza, Blida, Algiers, Boumerdes, Béjaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf. These regions should take extra precautions to deal with the intense heat that is expected to prevail today.

Additionally, strong winds will also be present this Sunday in several provinces. Algerie’s weather service has placed the provinces of Djanet, Tamanrasset, In Salah, Timimoun, El Bayadh, Naama, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, Ain Témouchent, Oran, Mascara, Mastaganem, Chlef, Tipaza, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, and Béjaia under a yellow alert.

Furthermore, it should be noted that sandstorms will affect the provinces of Naama, El Bayadh, Timimoun, In Salah, and Tamanrasset. These weather conditions require increased vigilance from residents, especially drivers, due to potential sandstorms that could reduce visibility on the roads.

As we enter this new week, the weather forecasts announce mild and stable conditions throughout the country. A slightly veiled sky is expected across the North regions, while a few clouds will dot the sky in the far West. In the Saharan regions, a clear sky will mark the extreme South and central Sahara, while a veil of clouds will float above the North Sahara and Bécharois.

Temperatures will remain relatively high, offering a mild spring warmth. In Algiers and Tiaret, the temperature will reach 31°C, while in El Oued and Ghardaia, it will rise to 33°C. El Meniaa will experience a temperature of 34°C, while Béni Abbes and Mascara will record temperatures of 36°C. Tamanrasset will reach 37°C, Relizane 38°C, Tindouf 39°C, and In Salah will peak at 41°C.
