ALGIERS, March 28, 2024 – The People’s Credit of Algeria (CPA) has announced the launch of a new financial product called “Qard Hassen Hajji”. This is an interest-free credit intended to help pilgrims finance their Hajj.
“As part of the organization of the 2024 Hajj season, the People’s Credit of Algeria (CPA) reaffirms its commitment to meeting the needs of its customers by launching the ‘Qard Hassen Hajji’, allowing our dear pilgrims to perform the fifth pillar of Islam with confidence,” the CPA said in a statement.
This credit is Sharia-compliant certified by the National Fatwa Committee for the Islamic Finance Industry.
The CPA launches an interest-free credit for the benefit of pilgrims
It is open to pilgrims who meet the legal and regulatory conditions set by the competent authorities. The amount of the credit can reach 300,000 Algerian Dinars, repayable over a period of 27 months, including 3 months of deferred payment.
It is accessible to individuals residing of Algerian nationality, with a regular income and aged under 75 years.
The CPA also offers the possibility for the children or spouses of the pilgrim to subscribe to the “Qard Hassen Hajji” to finance the journey of their parent or spouse.
