The Prime Minister, Nadir Larbaoui, presided over a government meeting today, Wednesday, April 17, focused on a new competition law project. This project is in line with the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at combating speculation, preventing monopolies, and promoting good economic governance.
In parallel, the government examined a proposal to amend legislation on waste management, control, and treatment, as well as an executive decree project concerning air transport and airport facilities. The goal is to improve the functioning of airports and ensure quality services for travelers.
In another light, the government considered the adoption of new mechanisms to strengthen the links between the academic world and the economy, with an executive decree project aiming to define the conditions and procedures for the completion of doctoral theses in the professional environment. This initiative would promote collaboration between higher education institutions and businesses.
Furthermore, special attention was given to resolving land issues related to the tourism sector. Discussions took place on the development of tourist expansion zones and the management of state-owned lands for tourism investment projects supervised by the AAPI.
Digitization of the postal and telecommunications sector was also addressed in the meeting, with a report presented to assess progress in this area, particularly regarding electronic payments.
Finally, the meeting paid special attention to accrediting specialized offices and expertise agencies operating in the hydrocarbons sector. This initiative aims to ensure quality expertise in conducting studies and projects, as well as supporting major investments in line with the national strategy for the valorization of hydrocarbon resources.
