As February draws to a close, winter seems to be making a comeback in Algeria, bringing with it its share of precipitation and cool weather. For Tuesday, February 27th, the weather forecast predicts a day marked by persistent rain in different regions of the country, accompanied by a slight drop in temperatures. It is therefore crucial to stay informed about the weather conditions in order to better prepare to face the weather challenges!
Météo Algérie has issued three special weather bulletins (BMS), announcing showers of rain, sometimes stormy and locally accompanied by hail in different wilayas of the country. The first BMS places the wilayas of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, and the North of Sidi Bel Abbes on orange alert. This alert is valid from Monday, February 26th at 9:00pm until Tuesday, February 27th at 12:00pm. Rainfall amounts estimated between 20 and 40 mm are expected in these regions.

Significant amounts of rain, ranging between 40 and 60 mm, locally exceeding 90 mm in coastal regions, are anticipated in these areas.
Moreover, the National Meteorological Office (ONM) has predicted some snowfall on the reliefs of the Center and West of the country, exceeding 1100/1200 meters in altitude, then descending to altitudes of 1000/1100 meters in the evening. These particular climatic conditions require special attention, especially for residents of mountainous areas.
As for the maximum temperatures for this day, they will vary considerably depending on the regions. Along the coastal regions, the thermometer will range between 13°C and 17°C. In the inland regions, temperatures will have a wider range, from 6°C to 17°C. Finally, in the vast Saharan expanses, temperatures will range from 15°C to 36°C.
Therefore, the weather forecast indicates that the thermometer will show 13°C in Tenes, 15°C in Skikda, 16°C in Jijel, and 17°C in Algiers and Oran. In the inland regions, temperatures will be slightly cooler, with 9°C in Medea, 10°C in Saida, 14°C in Chlef, and 15°C in Batna and Guelma. In the Western and Central regions of the country, often cloudy weather is expected, with intermittent rain that could turn into thunderstorms, accompanied by hail in some places. These precipitation should intensify in the evening, mainly along the coastal and near-coastal areas of the Center.
In the Eastern regions, partly cloudy skies are anticipated, with rain in the Western part of the region in the afternoon. This rain could evolve into thunderstorms by the end of the day, increasing precipitation, especially in coastal areas.
In the southern regions, the weather will be more favorable. A slight cloud cover will mark the region of Béchar, the North Sahara, and the Oases. On the other hand, the other Saharan regions are expected to have generally clear to partly cloudy skies.
