The Center for Research in Astronomy and Space Physics (CRAAG) located the epicenter of this tremor 6 kilometers northeast of the city. This tremor occurred after a previous one, recorded at 8:10 pm, measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale, with an epicenter located 6 kilometers southeast of Ghilizane.

Meanwhile, a moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 shook the region of Barbacha, Bejaia, in Algeria, on the morning of Friday, March 1, 2024, at 4:40 am local time. This earthquake, with its epicenter just 5 kilometers from Barbacha, was significantly felt in the nearby area of its origin.

No reports of human or material damage have been released by the civil protection authorities.
