ALGIERS, April 17, 2024 – The Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Mr. Fayçal Bentaleb, will preside over the launching ceremony of a new digital service of great importance tomorrow, Thursday.

According to a statement from the ministry, this digital service concerns the CHIFA card. This new service is added to the range of digital solutions available to citizens through the ministry’s website and/or affiliated organizations. It is particularly aimed at retirees, social security beneficiaries including employees, self-employed individuals, and job seekers.

This initiative demonstrates the progress made by the labor, employment, and social security sector in the field of digital transformation and awareness of available services and benefits. It highlights the various achievements for the benefit of citizens and measures taken to simplify administrative procedures and humanize relations with citizens.

This approach is part of the ministry’s overall strategy to improve the quality of services offered to citizens, enhance transparency and good governance, and promote digital inclusion.

Recall that in December of last year, Minister Fayçal Bentaleb presided over the launch of the second version of the CHIFA card, a major initiative aimed at improving access to healthcare and strengthening social protection for Algerian citizens.

This new card, with increased storage capacity and advanced features, allows social security beneficiaries to receive a higher reimbursement for medical expenses, increasing from 3,000 DA to 5,000 DA per prescription.

Indeed, the new CHIFA card stands out for its ability to store the beneficiary’s and their dependents’ last 40 electronic prescriptions, as well as details of the medications prescribed. This functionality allows for better tracking of healthcare and facilitates the monitoring of patients’ medical progress.
