Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, chaired a national video conference on Monday, April 8, 2024, dedicated to monitoring the evaluation of the management operations of the third quarter of the 2023/2024 school year and formulating general guidelines and instructions.
The objective of this meeting, which took place in anticipation of the resumption of classes after the Eid El Fitr holiday, was to ensure a smooth third quarter and to ensure the best conditions for the students.
Mr. Belabed stressed the need to ensure the supply of school meals from the first day of school, and instructed the ministry’s inspectorate general to closely monitor this operation.
The minister also emphasized the importance of updating the information system data via the ministry’s digital platform, and monitored the progress of the scheduled operations in each province.
Officials from the central administration, directors of education, the director of the national office of exams and competitions, and the director of the national office of distance education and training all took part in this video conference.
Digitalization of the education sector: The 2024 school year will be paperless
It should be noted that the Minister of National Education already held a national seminar with education directors and social partners to assess the progress of digital transformation in the sector.
Instructions were given and suggestions were collected to improve the process. The minister announced that several concrete digitalization measures will be put in place before June 2024.
Among the key measures, the enrollment of first-grade primary students will be digitized before next June. This will allow parents to avoid having to go to the school to enroll their children, as the operation will now be done remotely.
Other operations will also be digitized, such as school orientation, tracking absences, and exam management.
These initiatives represent a major advancement in the modernization of the Algerian educational system and aim to make education more accessible and effective for students, parents, and teachers.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to modernize the education system and provide a better experience for students and their families.
