The period for paying the automobile sticker for the year 2024 will be between March 2nd and March 31st, announced the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) in a statement, specifying that like in 2023, prices will not increase for the current year.
In the same statement, “The DGI informs owners of tourism vehicles, utility vehicles, and passenger transport vehicles that the legal period for paying the automobile sticker for the year 2024 will begin on Saturday, March 2nd at 8 am and will end on Sunday, March 31st, 2022, at 4 pm.”
These stickers are available at tax collection offices and post offices, the DGI points out, adding that “automobile sticker prices for this year remain unchanged.”
It is also stressed that the DGI and Algeria Post have mobilized all necessary means for the sale of automobile stickers to take place under the best conditions.
To avoid any inconvenience, vehicle owners “are requested to fulfill this legal obligation as soon as the operation starts, without waiting until the end of the period.”
What risk does a driver face if they do not display their sticker on the windshield of their vehicle?
Furthermore, the Directorate has drawn attention to “the need for owners to ensure, before acquisition, the legal price of stickers applicable to their vehicles, by referring to the price table,” specifying that for utility vehicles, the sticker price is set according to the total laden weight (TLW).
Additionally, the temporary circulation card (yellow card) serves as the registration card (gray card), stating that holders of these temporary cards must pay the sticker within 30 days from the date of circulation of the vehicle on national territory.
In conclusion, the statement recalls that the failure to display the sticker on the vehicle’s windshield results in a fine of 50% of the sticker amount, in accordance with Article 308 of the stamp code.
