Mokhtar Said Mediouni, new CEO of SGSIA

In a statement posted online on the evening of February 19, 2024, the Ministry of Transport announced the dismissal of Kouache and his replacement by a new CEO of SGSIA. Indeed, the general secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Djamel Eddine Abdelghani Dridi, oversaw the installation of Mokhtar Said Mediouni at the head of SGSIA at the international airport of Algiers, as stated in the aforementioned statement.

However, the ministerial department did not provide any explanation for the dismissal of Mohamed Salah Kouache from his position as CEO of this airport platform. It is also worth noting that Mokhtar Said Mediouni is a political analyst specializing in security issues.

It is worth remembering that the international airport of Houari Boumediene in Algiers covers an area of 1200 hectares and includes three passenger terminals with a total capacity of 18 million passengers per year. The Algiers airport has been involved in a series of improvement works to its structures and the strengthening of its destination network to become an international hub connecting the African continent to all corners of the world.
