The Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, announced a trade surplus between January and November 2023, reaching 10.42 billion U.S. dollars.

Indeed, the trade surplus recorded by Algeria during the period from January to November 2023 amounts to 10.42 billion U.S. dollars. This news, announced by the Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, indicates an encouraging trend for the national economy.

Furthermore, during the same period, imports amounted to 44.32 billion dollars, while exports were recorded at 54.75 billion dollars. Among these exports, 5.07 billion dollars concern non-hydrocarbon products.

Furthermore, during his presentation to the Finance Committee of the National People’s Assembly, Tayeb Zitouni highlighted the performance of the commercial sector and exports. He noted that the statistics provided were preliminary and did not include the services sector. In addition, the Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion supervised imports for retail sales in the amount of 10.1 billion dollars, including 1.85 billion dollars for the import of vehicles of various types.

The number of invoices submitted for import licenses issued in 2023 amounts to 11,246, involving 7,254 importers. This increase in the number of import licenses issued reflects increased activity in the import sector.
