Chukwuma ‘Chuks’ Akuneto, a highly esteemed youth coach, has thrown his hat into the ring for the coaching position of the Nigerian Under-17 Boys National Team, also known as the Golden Eaglets. The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) recently announced the opening of applications for the coaching roles of the Super Eagles and the Golden Eaglets, who were previously under the guidance of Nduka Ugbade.
Based in Manchester, England, Akuneto is a dedicated and driven coach with a UEFA A license. He has gained valuable experience through coaching positions in India and England and is now seeking to take on the role of managing the Golden Eaglets. Additionally, Akuneto is the founder of Next Steps Football Coaching, a specialized training program focused on personal improvement and fitness. The program has successfully nurtured numerous professional, semi-professional, and grassroots players of all ages. His past clients have included former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo, as well as Tom and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru of Watford and Hatayspor, respectively.
