Bamidele Akingboye, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election, has made a commitment to prioritize rural development and the welfare of the people if he emerges as the standard-bearer of his party and subsequently becomes governor of the state.
During the official declaration and presentation of his intent to party leaders in Akure, the state capital, Akingboye emphasized that the state deserves the best and that his government would focus on the upliftment and empowerment of every citizen. He stated that his aspiration is not driven by personal gain but by a desire to create a new economic outlook for the state, reduce governance costs, and address issues such as poverty and security.
Akingboye outlined his vision for the state, highlighting his plan to divide capital projects into social and economic aspects to bring about comprehensive development. He expressed his commitment to making the state a safe and secure place for all law-abiding residents, emphasizing a focus on the welfare of the people.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Tola Alabere, assured all aspirants vying for the party’s ticket of a level playing field and reiterated the party’s dedication to internal democracy and unity to achieve collective goals.
On the other hand, Olusola Oke, an aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledged to revamp rural communities through extensive road construction and infrastructural development during his tour of the state’s local councils. He emphasized his commitment to prioritizing critical sectors such as education, healthcare, energy, and security.
Oke promised to support farmers in the state by providing them with loans and modern farm equipment to enhance their productivity, ultimately turning them into employers of labor. He also assured the people of the state that his wealth of experience would be utilized to improve the state’s economy if given the opportunity to represent the party.
Both Akingboye and Oke are presenting themselves as candidates with a focus on the welfare and development of the people of Ondo State. Their plans encompass a wide range of sectors and issues, aiming to create a better future for the state and its residents. As the gubernatorial election approaches, the electorate will have the opportunity to evaluate these candidates’ visions and decide who is best suited to lead the state towards progress and prosperity.
