In a statement made by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he expressed his determination to put an end to politics of bitterness in the country.

He emphasized his intention to reconcile with a former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, in an effort to promote unity and cohesion within the Nigerian political landscape.

Ganduje’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala, conveyed this message on Sunday, highlighting Ganduje’s commitment to a united Nigeria that fulfills the aspirations of its citizens and fosters peace, unity, and order within the political sphere.

Ganduje’s pursuit of reconciliation with Kwankwaso is significant due to their previous differences, which led Kwankwaso to leave APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The feud between the two was intense, resulting in Kwankwaso being barred from Kano during Ganduje’s governorship. However, reports have emerged that President Bola Tinubu is advocating for reconciliation between Ganduje and Kwankwaso.

There has been a recent development in the situation, as there are indications that there may be plans to leave the ruling party if the reconciliation with the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) does not favor APC members in Kano.

APC stakeholders in Kano have expressed their readiness to follow Ganduje, as evidenced by APC state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, who hinted at the possibility of crossing over from the ruling party during a meeting with party loyalists in Kano.

Ganduje’s approach to seek reconciliation and unity within the political landscape is considered unprecedented for the chairman of a ruling party in Nigeria.

His call for politicians to work together as Nigerians and view each other as brothers and sisters underscores his commitment to promoting a harmonious and collaborative political environment.

This endeavor could potentially lead to a significant shift in the political dynamics and relationships within Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
