On April 3, 2024, on the occasion of the World Zero Waste Day, the QHSE team of AGL Congo raised awareness among employees and subcontractors about the 3Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle waste.

More than 500 people participated in this activity organized at the operational sites, which allowed for the collection and sorting of approximately 300 kg of waste handed over to a subcontractor for recycling.

During this awareness campaign, particular emphasis was placed on waste reduction. By demonstrating the negative impact of waste on the environment, each participant was encouraged to reconsider their behavior in order to generate as little waste as possible.

“Thanks to partnerships with local stakeholders, today our used tires are transformed into furniture, coffee capsules and corks into jewelry, and used oils are valorized. We aim to go further by involving employees and subcontractors in a participative approach to minimize our waste, which will then be reused or recycled,” explains Destaing LOUKOMBO, HSE Manager.
