The late 24-year-old Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Fredrick, was finally laid to rest on Monday in her hometown in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State after a tragic boat mishap claimed her life along with four other film crew members, including actor Junior Pope. The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, had instructed that her body be returned to the state for a proper burial after she was initially buried by the riverbank.

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, her body was exhumed and a candlelight procession was held in her honor. The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ in Ikot Udoma and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Eket Transition Committee Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey, Commissioner for Tourism, Charles Udoh, SA on Entertainment, Moses Eskor, Godfada Uko, members of the Eket Transition Committee, Nollywood actress Eve Esin, as well as members of the Nollywood community, friends, and sympathizers.
