The initial training offer of the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT) will reach a capacity of 414,800 educational places for the year 2024-2025, announced the general director of OFPPT, Loubna Tricha.

This improvement is due to the planned opening of 19 new institutions with a capacity of 5,000 educational places, specified Ms. Tricha presenting the action plan for 2024 and the related budget during the OFPPT Board of Directors meeting chaired by the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, Younes Sekkouri.

Ms. Tricha also highlighted the main axes of development of the office, including the diversification and upgrading of training offerings, strengthening e-learning platforms, developing training related to new sectors, and supporting training institutions towards Operational Excellence. It should be noted that after the launch of the 4 Cities of Trades and Skills (CMC) in the regions of Souss-Massa, Oriental, Laâyoune Sakia-El Hamra, and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 3 other CMCs will soon start in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Béni Mellal-Khénifra, and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma with 5,710 educational places available in the first year.

Furthermore, the budget related to the office’s action plan foresees the mobilization of a total volume of 4.179 billion dirhams. At the same time, Mr. Sekkouri emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of youth employment in projects led by OFPPT, recalling the Office’s continuous commitment, under the ministry’s auspices, to carry out several strategic projects aimed at modernizing and diversifying vocational training offerings to meet evolving needs for skilled labor.

In this regard, he emphasized the need to establish mechanisms and decision-making tools for the development of the prospective vocational training map through the adoption of a new approach involving regions and partners, stressing the importance of paying particular attention to the Office’s staff to address the various challenges.

The Board of Directors, convened in the presence of employee representatives, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and various ministerial departments that are part of the Board, approved the action plan and budget of the office for the year 2024.

This meeting was an opportunity to review the strategic development projects of the Office presented by Ms. Tricha, evaluate the progress of these projects, and define the measures required for efficient management.
