The rebels of the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) are accused of killing about twenty civilians near the village of Kella-Maoulé, located 40 kilometers from Bohong in Nana-Mambéré on April 2, 2024.
According to our colleagues at Radio Ndeke Luka, the people who were shot were invited by the assailants for a meeting regarding transhumance and the fight against cattle theft. “It was at the meeting point that the tragedy finally happened.”
According to municipal councilor Jean Ndio, “The tragedy happened 16 km from Kella-Maoulé. We still do not know the reasons. Did they steal cattle? Did they commit an act? We still know nothing about what happened. The elements of 3R invited these people to a meeting. At the meeting place, they shot these people at close range.”
“Yesterday, we counted thirteen (13) bodies on the spot. Some time later, we discovered four (4) more. This makes a total of 17 people killed. Those who committed this atrocity are elements of 3R. They came to tell the population not to cultivate in the area. It was on the sidelines of this meeting that they killed these people,” lamented Jonas Gaïngo, mayor of the 2nd district of Bohong.
