These visits, following the one by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stéphane Séjourné, are intended to revive cooperation between Rabat and Paris after months of diplomatic tensions.

According to well-informed sources, after the confirmed visit of the Minister in charge of Foreign Trade, Frank Reister, the French Minister of Agriculture, Marc Fesneau, is expected to follow suit to participate in the International Agriculture Fair (SIAM) which will take place from April 22 to 28 in Meknes.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, will travel to the Kingdom from April 26 to 28 to take part in the Morocco-France investment forum alongside several officials and businessmen from both countries.

On their part, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, and the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, are also expected in Morocco during the third week of April, according to the same sources.

It is worth noting that last February, the head of the Quai d’Orsay, Stéphane Séjourné, met his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Burita, during a visit that was seen as a prelude to a possible thaw between Rabat and Paris.

Stéphane Séjourné expressed his willingness to open a new chapter in bilateral relations and said he was personally committed to achieving it. The French Foreign Minister also expressed his country’s desire to establish a new “cutting-edge” partnership for the next thirty years.
