Barentu, 19 March 2024 – Mr. Gebrekal Arenyas, the manager of the agricultural projects at the Livestock and Crops Corporation, reported that the North-Eastern agricultural projects in the Gash Barka Region are contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the area.
Mr. Gebrekal emphasized the importance of projects in Kerkebet, Afhimbol, Molober, Mogoraib, and Sawa technical service, overseen by the Livestock and Crops Corporation. These projects are not only improving agricultural production and introducing new technologies but also creating employment opportunities for the local population.
He also mentioned that the Kerkebet and Afhimbol projects have provided permanent jobs for around 700 local residents and temporary employment for others. These initiatives are promoting the exchange of experiences among residents and supporting village regrouping efforts.
