The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, held talks today, Thursday, February 29, 2024, one-on-one, with his counterpart from the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, who is on a friendly and working visit to Algeria.
Indeed, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, welcomed the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, at the presidential palace in an official reception. The two Presidents listened to the national anthems of both countries and reviewed detachments of different forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) who paid them honors.
Earlier in the morning, the President of Mozambique visited the Martyrs’ Sanctuary (Algiers) where he laid a wreath of flowers at the commemorative plaque and observed a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the glorious National Liberation War.

It is worth mentioning that the President of Mozambique started a friendly and working visit in Algeria yesterday, Wednesday, at the invitation of President Tebboune.
In conclusion, this visit is also part of strengthening and consolidating the historical fraternal and solidarity ties between Algeria and Mozambique, and comes just before President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi’s participation in the works of the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) which will take place from February 29 to March 2 in Algiers.
