Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently attended the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) and the Emirati Mashreq Global Network (MGN) to expand the company’s business services in Egypt. The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the premier’s participation in the 2024 World Government Summit in Dubai, under the theme of “Shaping Future Governments”.

The agreement, signed by CEO of ITIDA Ahmed al-Zaher and head of MGN in Egypt Ahmed al-Sherif, in the presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Group Head of Operations Mark Edward, is set to provide 300 job opportunities for qualified Egyptian cadres in the field of exporting banking services over the next three years.

Under the terms of the agreement, MGN will expand its operations in Egypt to include providing data analysis, Business Intelligence (BI), internal audit, credit management, and risk and product management, all of which the company will export from Egypt to clients of Mashreq UAE.

This partnership between ITIDA and MGN demonstrates a commitment to driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities in Egypt by leveraging the country’s highly skilled and educated workforce. The expansion of MGN’s operations in Egypt signifies a vote of confidence in the country’s ability to deliver high-quality, specialized services to an international client base.

The signing of this agreement also signifies Egypt’s increasingly strategic position in the global technology and business landscape. As a hub for IT and business services, Egypt is well-positioned to attract international companies looking to capitalize on the country’s strong talent pool and favorable business environment.

The 2024 World Government Summit, where the agreement was signed, is a testament to the growing importance of technology and innovation in shaping the future of governments and societies. By participating in this summit, Egypt has demonstrated its commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies and harnessing the power of digital transformation to drive economic growth and development.

The presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly at the signing ceremony highlights the government’s support for initiatives that drive economic growth and create employment opportunities. By actively participating in events like the World Government Summit and facilitating partnerships between local and international entities, the Egyptian government is signaling its commitment to fostering a dynamic and forward-thinking business environment.

It is clear that the collaboration between ITIDA and MGN is a significant step towards expanding Egypt’s role in the global technology and business arena. The agreement not only creates job opportunities for Egyptian professionals but also positions Egypt as a key player in the export of specialized services to international markets.

Overall, the signing of this cooperation agreement marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s efforts to position itself as a hub for technology and business services. By leveraging partnerships with international companies like MGN, Egypt is paving the way for economic growth, job creation, and technological innovation. Time will tell how this partnership unfolds and how it contributes to Egypt’s ongoing development in the global business landscape.
