Soroti number plate theft: Suspects arrested in Mbarara, Kole, Lira

Police have arrested several suspects in connection with the theft of motor vehicle number plates and subsequent extortion of motorists in Soroti City.

East Kyoga Regional Police Commander Ibrahim Saiga confirmed the arrests on Monday, saying suspects linked to the thefts had been apprehended in Mbarara, Kole and Lira.

He said the case is under active investigation as police work to identify and arrest all those involved in the alleged criminal network.
