Gov’t orders mandatory 21-day quarantine for students travelling from DRC

The government has announced a mandatory 21-day quarantine for students travelling from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) into the country for the third-term academic calendar, a move to minimise the risk of Ebola transmission.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Dr Kedrace Turyagyenda, said the order followed a technical risk assessment and noted that the quarantined students would be supervised before reporting to their respective schools in Uganda.
