Staff shortage, grounded ambulances dominate Lango health assembly findings

When the Third Regional Health Assembly wrapped up at Gracious Palace Hotel in Lira City on Wednesday, it did more than close two days of speeches.

It produced an inventory of everything standing between the nine districts of Lango sub-region and the “responsive and sustainable health system” its theme promised.

From a single lab technician covering an entire health centre to ambulances without fuel or oxygen, the findings paint a system stretched thin at nearly every point of contact.
