Oil influx, condom shortages fuel high HIV, malaria rates in Bunyoro – Global Fund

Officials from the Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism (UCCM) for the Global Fund have expressed grave concern over the persistent high prevalence of malaria and HIV/AIDS in the Bunyoro sub-region, despite substantial financial investments channeled into eradicating the epidemics.

The delegation, led by UCCM board member Abdul Nassar Magezi, voiced their distress following a field monitoring tour evaluating Global Fund-supported health interventions across facilities in Buliisa District, Kikuube District, and Hoima City.
