Uganda to benefit from Shs755 billion climate finance scheme for farmers

Uganda is among four East African countries set to benefit from a new $200 million [around Shs755 billion] private sector-led financing mechanism aimed at helping smallholder farmers and rural businesses invest in climate adaptation.

The Africa Rural Climate Adaptation Finance Mechanism (ARCAFIM) was launched on Friday, September 4, 2026, by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Equity Group at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali, Rwanda.
