The Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Ms Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye, has directed the Ministry of Finance to lift the interdiction of several senior officials facing prosecution over an alleged Shs60 billion cyber fraud at the Bank of Uganda.
In an August 17 letter, Ms Nakyobe cited a July 29 directive by President Yoweri Museveni ordering the lifting of interdictions and the immediate reinstatement of officers he considers to have been wrongly charged in connection with the heist.
