Libya: Power Restored to Sirte and Surrounding Areas After 17-Hour Outage

Sirte – Electricity has gradually returned to Sirte and surrounding areas after a complete outage that lasted more than 17 hours. The blackout was caused by technical malfunctions and a shutdown of the Gulf Steam Power Station, along with the failure of several transmission lines.
