Five held over alleged Shs140m public land deal in Iganga

Police in Iganga District have arrested five people over the alleged illegal titling and attempted sale of about 4.45 acres of public land at Nakalama Sub-county headquarters.

The suspects include Nakalama Sub-county LCIII chairperson Hamidu Kawanguzi, 38, Senior Assistant County Chief and Principal Township Officer Deo Mia Wakabi, 47, and Dell-Wall International Uganda Ltd director Sadat Aniswali, 29.

Others are Area Land Committee member Ismail alias Museffu Mbudu, 35, and Nakalama North Village LC1 chairperson Mohammed Swaga.
