Residents alarmed as late musician Paul Kafeero’s grave reconstruction stalls

Residents of Masaba Village in Nkokonjeru Town Council, Buikwe District, have raised concerns after contractors abandoned the reconstruction of the grave of the late Ugandan music legend Paulo Kafeero before completing the work.

The reconstruction followed a court-ordered exhumation of Kafeero’s remains to obtain samples for DNA testing in a paternity case involving individuals seeking legal recognition as his children.

A visit to the site this week found no workers on duty and no visible progress on the restoration project.
