Some fishermen are abandoning their trade as soaring fuel prices make operations on Uganda’s major water bodies increasingly unsustainable.
From the shores of Lake Albert in Ntoroko District to Kasenyi landing site on Lake George and Lake Edward in Kasese, many are parking their boats and stepping away from a livelihood that once sustained their families, as the rising cost of fuel eats into already shrinking earnings.
