The 9th edition of Female Entrepreneurs of Tunisia (FET), organized by Managers magazine, is an opportunity to celebrate eight women entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves through their creativity, resilience, and the impact of their projects in their respective fields.
At the awards ceremony for the winners of the 9th edition of Female Entrepreneurs of Tunisia (FET), organized by Managers magazine, in partnership with the Friedrich-Naumann Foundation for Freedom and the European Union delegation, Tunisian businesswomen shone brightly.
Success knows no gender
This edition is also marked by a partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The event is an opportunity to celebrate eight women entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves through their creativity, resilience, and the impact of their projects in their respective fields.
In this context, Marcus Cornaro, EU Ambassador to Tunisia, stated: “We are gathered here to celebrate the talent, creativity, and determination of Tunisian women entrepreneurs.
Our goal is, first and foremost, gender-neutral success. We pay tribute to those who have shown audacity in constantly pushing boundaries and opening new paths for innovation and growth; those who fight every obstacle to change the system and resistant mentalities. The efforts of these women are a source of inspiration and deserve to be celebrated and recognized for their true value. The European Union fully recognizes the immense potential of women, especially as entrepreneurs. Women bring a unique perspective, overflowing creativity, and unwavering commitment to the economic negotiation table.” He added: “We are fully aware of the challenges they face, whether it be access to financing, cultural obstacles, or challenges related to balancing work and family life. That is why we are committed to working closely with Tunisian authorities and civil society organizations to create an environment conducive to the flourishing of female entrepreneurship, a key pathway for inclusive, national, and equal development.”
Opening new perspectives for Tunisia’s future
In this spirit, and through the collaborative approach of “Team Europe,” the EU Ambassador to Tunisia announced that several projects and programs in cooperation with EU member states are being implemented within the framework of the “Gender Action Plan.”
Cornaro mentioned programs such as “Innov’i,” supporting innovative entrepreneurship, “Tounes Wijhetouna,” with specific support for female artisan businesses, or “Insadder,” supporting SMEs looking to export. “As part of this same ‘Insadder’ program, we have decided, with our partners at the EBRD, to provide tailored export support to all winners of the Female Entrepreneurs trophies of Tunisia 2024 without exception,” announced the EU Ambassador to Tunisia. He called on women to continue breaking barriers and opening new perspectives for Tunisia’s future. Sahar Mechri, executive director of “Managers” magazine, revealed: “When I conduct interviews with entrepreneurs for our magazine or as part of exchanges with members of the ‘Club Female Entrepreneurs of Tunisia,’ I have always wanted to understand what sets them apart, what gives them the ability to dare. Because creating is, above all… daring. We all have this ability to launch ourselves, to defy the impossible, to take risks. Over time, as we come into contact with society, norms, stereotypes, we limit our possibilities. The more we grow, the less likely we are to dare… The comfort zone then has to blend in.” She assured that the goal of the “Female Entrepreneurs of Tunisia” program is not only to put them in the spotlight. “We cannot stop after starting them on such a beautiful momentum. We must continue to provide them with strong wings to help them develop their projects, to believe more firmly in their individual impact, essential for changing the collective,” she concluded.
