Kaïs Saïed reiterated what he has always said, that Tunisia will never be a country of departure, destination, or transit for irregular migration. Speaking to the various security bodies gathered at the presidential palace, Saïed indicated that dismantling criminal networks related to terrorism, drug trafficking, and human trafficking is a top national priority.

On the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the internal security forces, a ceremony was held yesterday at the Carthage Palace during which the Head of State gave a brief speech.

In this context, Kaïs Saïed reiterated what he has always said, that Tunisia will never be a country of departure, destination, or transit for irregular migration.

Speaking to the various security bodies gathered at the presidential palace, Saïed indicated that dismantling criminal networks related to terrorism, drug trafficking, and human trafficking is a top national priority. “We are victims of an unjust global economy and we will not accept our people to suffer from its disastrous effects,” he emphasized.

The President called on the internal security forces to redouble their efforts and vigilance to thwart destabilization attempts from both inside and outside. He stressed the importance of enforcing the law without distinction and ensuring its respect, as the law is the guarantor of progress and stability.

“Freedom and security are not incompatible,” he asserted. “On the contrary, security protects freedom, which does not mean anarchy, defamation, and the spread of rumors to harm state institutions. Tunisia is facing crucial challenges, but our destiny is in our hands, and our determination to overcome them is stronger than ever,” he assured.

The President paid tribute to the martyrs of the homeland, wishing a speedy recovery to all the injured members of the security institution. He also praised the Fida Foundation for providing full support to the families of martyrs and injured members of the security and military institutions.
