Exchange day between some members of the government of the DRC and a delegation from the Harvard Africa Caucus this Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Blue Room of the Government building. This delegation is composed of about thirty students from the Harvard Kennedy School who have chosen the Democratic Republic of Congo as a case study in all its facets.
The discussions covered several topics between these students and some members of the government, namely the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya; the Minister of Health, Hygiene and Prevention, Roger Kamba; the Minister of Mines, Antoinette Nsamba; as well as the Minister of State, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Eve Bazaiba, not forgetting the Minister of Defense, Jean-Pierre Bemba.
In his introductory remarks, the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya, outlined the context of these discussions and the presence of this delegation of students and researchers from Harvard.
The discussions focused mainly on the Democratic Republic of Congo as a chosen case study in their immersion theme.
“The central role played by the DRC in the world. The uranium that made the atomic bomb came from the DRC. In your phones and computers, there is coltan that comes from the DRC. Today we talk about climate change and the DRC has forest basins that preserve all of humanity”, indicated the spokesperson for the Congolese government.
