2027: North mobilizes for Tinubu as Shekarau, Badaru, Lalong, others float new group

ABUJA: Northern Nigeria’s political establishment has moved to formalise its support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, unveiling a sweeping mobilisation structure, Arewa for Asiwaju A4A, that draws together former governors, sitting and former senators, ministers and grassroots power-brokers into a single campaign machine spanning all 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the group’s Head of Media Relations, Edwin Olofu, on Monday in Abuja, adding that a formal unveiling is expected in Abuja in the coming days, with zonal and state inaugurations to follow.
