The coach of the Congo U20 team has spoken about the match on Tuesday against Benin, for the 2nd day of Group A at the 2023 African Games. And the coach assures that the Diables Rouges are determined to secure the victory.
Congo will be playing for their survival in the men’s football tournament at the 2023 African Games. The Diables Rouges will face Benin tonight, in the second day of Group A. After being held to a draw by Ghana last week, the Congolese U20 team must secure a victory to move closer to qualifying for the semi-finals. This is a challenge that coach Clément Massamba believes his team can overcome.
In a pre-match press conference on Monday night, the coach stated that his young players are ready to take the three points against the Guépardeaux.
“We consider this match as a final because it will allow us to take a step towards qualifying for the semi-finals. My players have recovered well and are ready to play a good game tomorrow. Our goal is to advance from the group stage and we will give our all to achieve that because the country expects a victory from us. Therefore, we have the obligation to come out of this match with a positive result,” Clément Massamba said.
As a reminder, Congo will face Benin on Tuesday, March 12th at 5pm GMT in the second day of the group stage at the African Games.
