10 anti-EACOP activists charged with being a nuisance after alleged protests

he Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court has charged and remanded 10 anti-oil activists who were arrested on Monday during a march to Parliament and the RR Pearl Tower offices to deliver a petition calling for changes to Uganda’s oil policies and investment priorities.

The activists appeared before a Grade One magistrate and were charged with being a nuisance on a public road, contrary to Section 67(1)(c) of the Roads Act, Cap 346. They denied the charge.
